ECMM Privacy Policy

East Coast Mobile Medical Inc. recognizes our clients place a high degree of trust with us when they share confidential medical information.

We commit to you that we will safeguard this information at all times.

We take this responsibility very seriously.

For this reason, we have developed stringent security protocols and methodologies to ensure that information is neither shared without authorization nor retained beyond the necessary timeframe to complete our appointed tasks.

East Coast Mobile Medical Inc. values our clients and respects the importance of their privacy. We recognize the significance of safeguarding the information that is provided to us as we communicate with each other in order to complete the many services that we provide to our customers. For this reason, we maintain the highest level of security to protect the personal information that we receive.

Our privacy policy has been established to advise all our clients of our commitment to the privacy and confidentiality of all information that we obtain and to ensure this is done responsibly

It is our commitment to adopt, implement, and maintain the ten Privacy Principles based on the values set by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

  1. Accountability

    ECMM is responsible for maintaining and protecting the personal information under its control and shall designate one or more individuals to be accountable for the organization’s compliance with these principles.
  2. Identifying Purposes

    At the time that any personal information is collected, ECMM will inform the individual concerned of the purposes for which the information is being collected.
  3. Consent

    The knowledge and consent of the individual will be obtained for the collection, use or disclosure of personal information, except where the law provides an exemption.
  4. Limiting Collection

    The personal information ECMM collects shall be limited only to that which is necessary for the purposes identified. Information shall be collected by fair and lawful means.
  5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention

    Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as is necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
  6. Accuracy

    Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.
  7. Safeguards

    Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
  8. Openness

    ECMM shall make readily available to individuals specific information about its policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.
  9. Individual Access

    Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall be given access to that information. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate. In certain situations, ECMM may not be able to provide access to all the personal information it holds about an individual. Exceptions to the access requirement should be limited and specific. The reasons for denying access should be provided to the individual upon request. Exceptions may include information that is prohibitively costly to provide, information that contains references to other individuals, information that cannot be disclosed for legal, security, or commercial proprietary reasons, and information that is subject to solicitor-client or litigation privilege.
  10. Challenging Compliance

    Any individual with concerns related to ECMM personal information handling practices or the manner in which his or her personal information has been collected, used or disclosed, shall be able to address those concerns to the Privacy Officer.
